Holter monitoring is a continuous, noninvasive test that records the heart’s electrical activity over 24 to 48 hours or longer while a patient goes about normal daily activities. Using a small wearable device, physicians can detect irregular heart rhythms that may not appear during a standard electrocardiogram (ECG).
Holter monitoring is commonly used to evaluate symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, fainting or unexplained fatigue, and to assess the effectiveness of cardiac treatments, helping guide accurate diagnosis and personalized care.
